Research and independent regulation

The professional bodies have been required to split their regulatory and representative functions as part of the regulatory settlement post-Clementi.  There is, as all good lawyers know, the world of difference between complying in substance and complying in form.  The Bar Standards Board appear to have rather visibly failed to understand that difference.  See the blog I was asked to write for the Guardian here.
